About R View
We were given disposable cameras to take pictures of the things in our community that were important to us or that we wanted to see changed.
The photographs were used as springboards for discussion about what was going on in our communities and what could be done to fix or reduce the issues. We decided that we wanted to host an exhibit to showcase our photographs in our own community.
The R VIEW exhibit was held at the Free Times café in Toronto, Ontario Canada during the summer of 2001. We displayed the photos, along with a written description about why we took the picture and what it represents. We also created some collages of our pictures about five main themes: friends, body image, violence, graffiti and drugs.
