Tuba Junior High School

Tuba Zangaria is a Bedouin village in northern Israel and it is located
near the Jordan River. The village is surrounded by Jewish cities and is
therefore one of the only Arab village in the area. There are 6500 people
who live in Tuba and most of them make a living in commercial activities.
The high school in Tuba was founded in 1991 and every year the school
produces between 60 and 70 graduates. Most of the over 700 students who
attend the school come from Tuba, however, some travel from the nearby
villages of Akbara and Waddy Hamam.
One
of the objectives of this public school is to encourage students to
participate in extracurricular activities. The school administration sees
the importance of extracurricular activities in education and in producing a
responsible person. In order to accomplish this goal, the school
administration has adopted several means including the participation of a
group of students from grade 9 in a health promotion project. This project
will help to improve the overall educational experience that the
participating students receive.
